Women’s Halloween Costumes Drive

We just got word that the most popular women’s Halloween costume this year is anticipated to be a sultry SWAT team outfit. We get pirates (Pirates of the Caribbean), we get Native American princesses (Lone Ranger), we get sexy jesters (Batman)… but SWAT? what are we missing? Tell us!Below we’ve created a slot where you can type in the answer (or your guess) as to why sexy SWAT is so popular this year. Was there a movie we didn’t see? A television show we didn’t hear about? A viral video we need to see?

As I approach my 35th birthday, I become more and more dismayed at the selection of women’s Halloween costumes that are available. I want to look good, even sexy…but I don’t want a skirt that only just barely covers my butt, and I don’t want anything strapless showing off too much of my chest because, well, it’s always pretty cold at the end of October in upstate New York. That, and I don’t own a strapless bra anymore.

So I went and hunted down these Halloween costumes for women who don’t want to show a ton of skin – but also don’t want to be relegated to shapeless costume sacks either. My definition of modesty for these costumes includes skirts that are cut below the knee.

The Monroe Women’s Club will be holding its annual collections of outgrown — or new — Halloween costumes in the parking lot at the Union Savings Bank, 411 Monroe Tpke. on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 to 2 p.m.

New this year will be a food drive and Halloween candy collection. All costumes, non-perishable foods and bags of Halloween candy will go to the Monroe Food Pantry to help the families they serve.

This is the clubs 10th year of helping families in Monroe and Bridgeport with Halloween costumes.
